Band founder Matt Knoth (k-nt) doesn't know whether to credit his low earning potential to his master's degree in Philosophy or to a lifetime of poring through stacks of old bluegrass records in the massive collection of his father, California radio legend Cuzin' Al (KPIG, KFAT). Whether he's playing guitar or three-finger banjo, Matt's licks lie at the foundation of the band's instrumental sound. In 2003, he took home a silver medal in the Best Backup Guitar category at the Topanga Fiddle and Banjo Contest.

Christa Dahlstrom's powerful lead vocals, cited by Bluegrass Unlimited as "especially effective," (see Press), helped distinguish the band early in its history. She started singing in church at age 6 in Anoka, Minnesota (home town of Garrison Keillor), and worked in her teens singing at funerals and weddings.

A classically-trained multi-instrumentalist, Mike Brown comes to the band from Austin, TX. His melodic, McCartney-esque bass lines help underscore the band's dynamic energy. Mike's broad vocal range makes him the band's most versatile harmony singer. Of late he's begun to step out from behind the doghouse to play old-time fingerstyle guitar.

Chris Ereneta has emerged from his role as a novelty singer and player of junkshop instruments to become one of the band's leading creative forces. His clawhammer banjo playing drives All Wrecked Up's old-time numbers, and his rotating mix of additional instruments (mandolin, dobro, fiddle) help the band vary the texture and mood of its sound from song to song.

Annie Staninec (STAN-ee-netz) tears herself away from her all-night jams and days at San Francisco's School for the Arts to play scorching fiddle with All Wrecked Up. In 2002 she placed 2nd in the youth division at the Cloverdale Old-Time Fiddle Contest. She can also be seen performing in the Donner Mountain Bluegrass Band, in the house band at the monthly Atlas Cafe jam (last Thursday of the month), and as a guest with an increasing number of Bay Area bands.
